Why do some parents force their children to take care of them when they retire? Of course the children have no option but to do it, even though they can't afford it. These "children" sometimes have their own family to take care of.
I believe that parents should plan for their retirement. It helps in alleviating poverty. Their children can improve their lives by investing their money for their family's future. I have nothing against children who volunteer to support their parents. In fact, I salute them. But the keyword here is volunteer. If they can't take care of themselves, how can they take care of their parents?
I am a father and as a father I should always think of the welfare of my daughter, regardless of how old she is. And when I grow old, I don't want to be her burden. She may opt to care for me out of her love, but she should prioritize her family first.
